I beg to differ :) ASE works fine with 1.3 on freebsd 4.7. You can
find my server "wokka's World Texas BfServer"
And I'm running it as a normal non-root user :)

Do u get a error failing to bind to the ASE port. Also note that ASE in
1.3 Linux is broken and doesn't work.

Subject: [bf1942] bf1942 and ase
Hello,
I've got a strange problem at the moment with my linux bf-server.
When I run the server as root it turns up as it should in ASE, but when
I
run it as a normal user
it doesn't, anyone have a suggestion to a fix for this??
(my startupscript and all files under battlefield are owned by the user
if
it has anything to do with this)
