I already tried that - no change at all. Btw: all other of my collegues
testing the server had the same problems.

I run my server on a T-Bird 1200 (512/512 MB RAM/swap, slackware 8.1
pure
console), 100MBit connection and has no lag whatsoever (at least I dont
have
any)

This could since i have (as is recommended) put a cap on each users
connection to 256kbps. Those of you that have lag-problems with your
servers
could try this out and tell the rest if it helped.

Just a question, has anyone tested running the server under X (I will
never
do it since it creates loads of lag
