Andreas,

I understand that BF is no HL (and I love it for most of its
differences), but when you boil it down, its just another on-line
multi-player frag fest, just like HL is on-line. What you have listed
are nothing more than additional weapons that a player can utilize and
some other stuff that I dont see affecting logging (spawn points? open
terrain gameplay?). The weapons, while they are very cool, can be
picked up, used, and dropped like any other weapon in just about every
FPS on the market.

BUT this is all beside the point. No one on the list besides yourself has
seen what your XML is currently capable of, so all we can do is wait and
see. I think it sounds like a great idea to use XML after reading the
other messages in this thread. My original intent was to bring the HL log
standard to your attention. It's there to reference and compare to your
own ideas about logging. Maybe they figured out a good way to solve a
problem you've run into. It cant hurt to look. It just seems to me that
most developers in the past have really missed the mark when it comes to
the logging. I really enjoy the BF game and all the mods for it. I just
want to see it succeed in areas where other game servers have failed
miserably.

Good luck and I hope we see it soon.
