Server performance

Hello,

I'm new to this list and I've been reading the archives. I hope this
post will not add to much redundant information. I got a Linux Dedicated
server with the DC .3N mod. Hardware: 1.8GHz P4 and 512MB of memory. At
first the performance was bad with only 8 players. I tweaked the
chokebandwidth and maxallowedconnection to 128. Now with 16 players,
it's playable but on big maps or after playing a while it's gets more
laggy than normal. I guess this is "normal" behaviour in this release?
Also, is there a way to stop the debugmessages on the screen? They are
totally useless to gameadmins and I suspect that disabling those
messages will gain some performance (at least I hope it does). Are there
any other performancetweaks known?
