A PIII 667 may be lacking even though dual, the win32 version needs a 2Ghz + for a large game. We will just have to wait and see.

I answered my own question ... got it working fine. However, performance seems to be lagging severely. If I host a LAN only game response time is acceptable. When I Host an Internet game I experience performance problems and get a warning ... with only myself connected. I'm running on a HP Netserver LC2000 that has dual PIII 667 processors, 1GB memory, and Ultra-2 SCSI 10,000-RPM RAID disks. I'm running Red Hat Linux 7.2. Is anyone else experiencing similar performance problems ... considering this is a beta release?

Thanks

Michael

  Subject: [bf1942] Server Config Question

  Group,

Is there a flaw in the architecture of this server or am I missing something. I want to configure the server to host players both from the internet and from a local LAN concurrently. I've configured my ports (14567 and 23000) and it seems like I can do either or but not both. I have a Counter Strike Server also on Linux and my son and I can battle against friends who connect via the internet while we play on our LAN. Is this possible with this build of the server or will I need to choose to host either a LAN game or Internet game. I only have one static IP address so I can't move the server outside of the firewall and onto another IP.

  Thanks,

  Michael
