The main problem with the win32 server being a CPU hog is that it isn't a server its a client
which has a graphics loop and everything. I expect that the Linux server once stable could
be 30%+ quicker which would be top.

Hello,

Ryan, thank you very much for your hard job and the speed of your new release , at least i am able to connect to my server and change map several time. You really do a great job man, and if you are alone you really do an incredible job.
If your are a wizard could you make the server able to run on a PIII 550 Mhz ??? I am joking of course, but i think the rebuild of the server from a windows server is not the best way to get better performance under linux, perhaps i am wrong but it seems like the win server is really heavy and use a lot of cpu.
I don't know if u have worked on the windows server too, but in this case do you thinks that the server code could be optimized to get better performance ?

By the way, thanks again for your hard job, keep going, and ignore all the poor minded people posting agressive comment.

My linux config :
PIII 550
192Mo ram
Linux RedHat 7.1
Kernel 2.4
glibc 2.2.4
