[game at peefree bf1942-lnxded-1.2beta1]$ locate README-bf1942-lnxded.txt
/home/game/bf1942/bf1942-lnxded-1.2beta1/README-bf1942-lnxded.txt
[game at peefree bf1942-lnxded-1.2beta1]$

In the folder you unzipped the file to there should be a file called
README-bf1942-lnxded.txt
In there, the errors u describe are outlined. Basically, you should ignore
then.
