[bf1942] joining the server

I set mine up last night, but have noticed some very very serious lags
on a Dual P-Pro box.  256+memory and a very very healthy pipe (10BaseFL)
In the Tobruk map, at the allied base, the game gets sooo choppy it is
almost impossible to play.  Tried this on 2 servers and only 2 ppl in
it.  Any Ideas guys/gals????

Have any of you managed to join a linux server?

Because my server crashes when somebody tries to join. And i see only
empty
linux servers in the server list.
I think the server files have a major bug, so it wont work until some
type
of patch comes out.
