You're actually using a 32-bit install of Fedora, right?

This almost always means you have the wrong OpenGL drivers installed. 
Installing the correct ones tends to be distro and hardware specific 
(and in the case of ATI cards, maybe the closed-source drivers will work 
when the open source ones won't...although either should be fine for 
Avadon).
