use the bittorrent link that was in the article about the release from
icculus.org's site if you can.
Use the simple python-based bittorrent client, and start it up on the
file you've downloaded. (other clients may work properly too, but i know
the python one will handle a partially damaged file nicely)

the client will then check the file, figure out what's valid and what's
invalid, and it'll download the broken parts only, which should save you
downloading the entire thing over again, if it's a minor issue. of
course, if the file's been downloaded via ftp in ascii mode, the damage
is likely to be extensive, but bittorrent is still going to do a better
job.

in the end, you should end up with a valid .run file.
