Windows has 3D sound with multiple channels, possibly using hardware
support. Linux has two-channel 3D audio mixed in software. If
multi-channel 3D-audio is important, use Windows. That's it.

As for UT2003 being better - I can't answer to that. Perhaps something
IS wrong except the lack of multiple channels. However they both do
use the same engine and audio output library (OpenAL).
