I don't think I can use ATI's drivers, because the Radeon VE is a 7000
series product, and ATI only offers binary drivers for the 9700, 9000, 8500,
and FireGL.

Anyone else have an original Radeon with XFree86?

I'm using ATI's binary-only drivers, and they seem to work.
You'll need the latest CVS version of DRI to run ut2003 based
engines, though.
