[aquaria] "Press S to Skip" doesn't appear

I did a build of False Genesis Aquaria_Clean repo
(https://github.com/fgenesis/Aquaria_clean) and tried it with both the Linux
Steam and Windows Steam versions of Aquaria. In both cases, the words "Press
S to Skip" don't appear when you press ESC to skip a cut scene. The black
text placeholder band appears in the middle of the screen. There is,
however, no text in , making it appear as if the game has crashed.
