PhysicsFS has changed from the LGPL license to the zlib license, for several reasons, outlined here. With the exception of one person who could not be contacted (and who's Spanish translation was thus removed), all contributors supported the license change.
Anything in CVS from today on (including the upcoming 0.1.9 release) is under the zlib license. Anything before today is LGPL'd.
To the end user, there shouldn't be any noticable difference in terms of shipping and packaging of software. The developer has more freedom, however, in terms of use, distribution, and incorporation of PhysicsFS code.
Arguably, you have the right to "steal" the code now, since you are no longer required to publish source changes to the library, and may incorporate the code and commercially exploit it without the LGPL's "viral" nature forcing you to open your code. I trust that most developers will do The Right Thing. For those that won't...well, I wrote the library to be useful, and I hope it will be.
