BitTorrent is pretty nice, except for the fact that things dissapear
so quickly...

Holy cow!
The Bug in Black Shades is fixed!
You can play it on ia32 now!

Home again, home again. It feels weird having dual head, and a mouse
after using a laptop with a trackpad for two weeks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be amazed if anyone believed that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I decided TimeDoctor Dot Org wasn't doing getting enough lawsuits,
so I went and made it a Doctor Who Fansite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Laptops so need wheels by their pointing devices.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Suffering from NWN withdrawl.

Of course nothing beats the classic Attack Dolphin manuever.

THE WAR ON MARS HAS BEGUN
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gave Ryan his 500 Mhz iMac back the other day, got a 233 Mhz bondi
blue iMac in the mail. OS 8.5 is amusing, even if the SSH client
I got for it can't display colors properly. Also bought NWN, which is
amusing, the port is actually better than I thought it would be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tried uploading a 5 meg file to filesingularity.... had to reset the
modem each time I got past 75%, gg comcast.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gave up on samba for music over the network after I figured out LUFS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Got an umbrella today :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, the new Alec Empire stuff sounds good.
Much more like The Destroyer than the experimental stuff.
Though of course I haven't heard anything from the second cd, which is
more experimental.
No doubt it's worth it even just for the first cd. Though it's about
28 bucks to get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just saw an ad for a new nissan on tv today, the 'morono'....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Today was a great day, we had some very fine weather.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leaving here for Seattle on the 26th.
Going to get back April 9th.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
11:32 < zakk> http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/29769.html seems
to make my monitor make a tone
11:32 < zakk> if I cover a certain space of pixels on the screen the
tone stops
11:32 < zakk> and it doesn't seem to matter what color of thing I put
over it
...
14:53 < kig> zakk: the noise comes from the ELECTRON GUN
14:54 < kig> it zips and zaps and zips and zaps at 400 million pixels
per second across the screen and then you die
14:54 < kig> very simple really!
14:54 < Sketch> then you hit reset and start over
----------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.timedoctor.org/~zakk/images/crap/fucking_huge.jpg
YEAH!
That's right, bigger than the XBOX!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Under the 'Advanced User' part of the comcast.net website for it's net
users:
"How do I create an icon on my Desktop?"

Other amusing bit:
"Powercycle Your Modem

Sometimes it is necessary to shut down your cable modem connection
completely when something is not functioning at an optimum level.
Powercycling is similar to rebooting your computer and may help
 improve performance."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So I went ahead and gimped Ryan again:
22:45 < icculus> zakk: Your vhost is in time-out for misbehaving.
22:46 < Crusader> BRAVO RYAN!
22:46 < icculus> hahaha
22:47 < icculus> <dustin> VENGEANCE!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, two times zero is still zero. Somewhere along the line comcast's
modem or their headend or whatever knocks me off when I'm uploading.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
peanut gallery:
00:12 <@zakk> the good news is that the hold message on comcast's tech
support line said my upstream has doubled
00:13 <@zakk> which hopefully also means I won't be ass raped whenever
 I upload
00:13 <@eh\2> <comcast> two times zero is still zero SUCKER!
00:13 <@code_404> <comcast> a rockin 600bps
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Amusingly, I was offline for quite a few hours tonight.
The hold message claimed that the upstream has doubled, which is nice.
Hopefully this means I can upload things now as well as download with
out being booted offline.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oddly, I have two ISA Sound Blaster 16's
and both of them work with no options to the sb module.
It's pretty bizzare.
One of them has some terrible static on the PCM channel
The other is nice though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You must download this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Internet's been down for about a week or so.

02:18 < zakk> http://www.timedoctor.org/~zakk/images/keep/itsamezakkio.jpg
02:18 < P2E> ryan looks like he's having a stroke in that picture
02:19 < zakk> haha
02:19 < P2E> more than usual that is =]

02:32 <@zakk> http://www.timedoctor.org/~zakk/images/keep/itsamezakkio.jpg
02:32 <@zakk> you guys all saw this, right?
02:33 <@velo> you talking to the gay nerd version of kevin smith?

04:02 < icculus> oh, no, everyone's found out that I'm really a girl
now!
04:02 < icculus> Thanks, vogon!
04:02 * icculus pouts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.timedoctor.org/~zakk/genius.jpg
----------------------------------------------------------------------
04:39 < zakk> I don't buy milk
04:39 < vogon> that explains why you're 7'8" and 37 pounds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
02:57 < icculus> Holy shit, I'm getting to the end of zakk's wishlist
going, "damn, this is a LONG list", and there's SEVEN MORE PAGES after
that.

02:58 < vogon> <zakk> wishlist item #496: more wishlist space
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Buried under snow here:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Woohoo, I'm an insured motorist
----------------------------------------------------------------------
8 hours later... and the monitor has gone into standby mode.
Best. station. ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Amusingly enough, one of the local TV stations hooked up to my cable
network BSOD'd from a lack of disk space:
http://www.timedoctor.org/~zakk/bsod.png

This is while they're playing Kenny G in the background.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/gaming/5cbd/
Surprisngly awesome t-shirt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, ThinkGeek has a watch that detects radiation:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/watches/5cef/

"Blah blah blah..."
"...This watch could be very useful for the following people:"
And then they list:
"Tourists travelling to risk areas"
I mean, really, where the heck are you going?
Iraq?
Chernobyl?
And then:
"Professionals of international organisations travelling to risk areas"
So what, when you're in the UN you have to provide your own geiger
counter?

Really, I just use my biological radiation detection device.
It's quite simple really, you just count your fingers, if you count
more than 11, it's too dangerous and you should depart for less
radiation soaked pastures post-haste.

See, I'm not the only one that thinks Mutant Storm is great :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Comcast seems to be dropping my cable modem whenever they detect non
http traffic. It's brilliant.
I also got my gf4 outputting to the TV on a seperate X server.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am extremely disturbed by the fact that Arby's has "Horsey Sauce"
in the condiments dispenser. The SPCA must be made aware.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=32996&highlight=violation
For anyone who has the same problem updating gentoo that I did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
R.Nev pointed out that I should be happy to have my box working at
all again, he's got a good point, I'm happy to even be this far.
A month or two ago when the motherboard broke, I nearly broke my 19
inch samsung monitor in frustration.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok now I'm on a drive with a couple weeks less work.
Hopefully this one will work better because the other drive couldn't
even run any of the gentoo tools (emerge, etc) since the file system
had apparently gotten too corrupt from all the random reboots :|
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, the ide was hooked up wrong to the CDRW msphil sent me.
Now it's in gentoo and fscking...
Ahh, bad/duplicate blocks, probably from rebooting at random times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, that motherboard works.
Ok, now the keyboard isn't working on my main box which has basically
the same mobo.
I probably just need to move shit around.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Woohoo!
Abit got my motherboard back to me finally.
Looks like the same one but without several layers of dust.
I hope it works :)
